Victoria’s tennis community has another reason to celebrate, with Wonga Park’s very own Matthew Dellavedova producing one of the most impressive winning streaks currently seen in world tennis.
The 25-year-old Victorian has surged into form on the international stage, winning 20 consecutive ITF matches without dropping a single set, a rare level of dominance at any tier of professional tennis. Even more remarkably, he has claimed four straight ITF Futures titles, an achievement that underlines just how exceptional this run is.
For context, winning even one ITF title is incredibly challenging given the depth and competitiveness of the global field, four consecutive wins in a matter of weeks is a feat few players manage.
Having grown up training at Wonga Park Tennis Club, run by his father, he has been immersed in the sport since the age of seven.
His latest title came at the M15 Maanshan tournament in China, where he once again demonstrated his control and composure.
The victory sealed his fourth consecutive title in as many weeks, capping off a flawless stretch in which he has not dropped a set, a testament to both his physical endurance and mental sharpness.
Currently ranked ATP No. 358 (as of 25 June 2026), he has surged up from No. 456 in May, a sharp rise driven by his recent form. This winning streak has firmly placed Dellavedova on the radar as one of the impressive players on the ITF circuit.
“I would consider myself a hard worker, someone who prides himself on getting the maximum out of my ability,” Dellavedova said.
From the courts of Wonga Park to the global stage, his success highlights the strength of local tennis pathways, and the impact of our community clubs in developing elite athletes.
Dellavedova’s journey is a powerful reminder of what persistence, local support and belief can produce and we cant wait to see what he does next!
