Tennis Victoria proudly acknowledges the outstanding achievements of five remarkable individuals from the tennis community who were nominated for the prestigious 2023 Victorian Sport Awards (VSAs).

Scheduled to take place at the Victory Room at Marvel Stadium, Docklands, on Wednesday 12 June, 2024, the VSAs promise to be a night of celebration, honoring the achievements and contributions of athletes, volunteers, and organizations across the state.

Among the nominees, Tennis Victoria is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable victories of its members:

Tina Keown – Gallagher Community Coach of the Year

Tina Keown, Managing Director of the Victorian Tennis Academy (VTA), stood out for her exemplary dedication and innovative coaching methodologies. Tina’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement has been instrumental in transforming tennis programs across four clubs and centers, making tennis accessible to individuals of all ages, standards, abilities, and backgrounds.

2023 Country Week – My Sport Live Community Sporting Event of the Year

Tennis Victoria’s remarkable efforts during the 2023 Country Week garnered well-deserved recognition as the My Sport Live Community Sporting Event of the Year. Despite facing unprecedented challenges posed by floods, Tennis Victoria, alongside key partners, rallied together to deliver a memorable event, showcasing the resilience and spirit of the tennis community.

Hayden Eastwood – VAILO Volunteer of the Year

Hayden Eastwood’s tireless efforts and commitment to inclusivity at Castlemaine Lawn Tennis Club earned him the prestigious VAILO Volunteer of the Year award. Through initiatives like Rainbow Sets and the Future Stars program, Hayden has made significant strides in connecting the community through tennis.

Michelle Hill – Involve Masters Athlete of the Year

Michelle Hill’s remarkable comeback to tennis after 23 years saw her clinch the title of Involve Masters Athlete of the Year. Michelle’s stellar performances on both local and international stages underscore her unwavering determination and talent in the sport.

Heath Davidson – Frank Wilkes Award

Two-time Paralympian Heath Davidson’s stellar campaign in 2023 earned him the esteemed Frank Wilkes Award. Heath’s exceptional achievements in Quad Wheelchair tennis, including victories at prestigious tournaments and Grand Slam events, reflect his remarkable talent and dedication to the sport.
