19 March 2024 | Tennis Victoria

The Tennis Victoria MDF Cup brought students from specialist schools together for a day of tennis, fun, and inclusivity. It wasn’t just about the sport; it was about fostering a sense of belonging and providing opportunities for children with disabilities to stay active and engaged.

Fire Rescue Victoria played a pivotal role in the day’s activities, bringing their expertise and support to the event. Not only did they cook up a storm on the BBQ, but they also brought along a fire truck, adding an extra layer of excitement and entertainment for everyone involved.

Students from schools at Dandenong Valley SDS, Concord School, Heatherwood, Emerson Shool, and Rossbourne School participated in the day, and the Cup was a true testament to the power of community and collaboration. Students had the chance to try different tennis streams, explore their abilities, and make lasting memories with their peers.

We were lucky enough to have help from coaches to help out today with the activities and games. Thank you to the coaches from Better Tennis from Frankston Centenary and Mount Eliza and the coaches from iTennis from Caroline Springs.

Thank you to all the schools, coaches, volunteers, and staff who made this day possible. Your dedication and support have made a difference in the lives of these students, inspiring them to dream big and reach for the stars. Until next time, let’s continue to champion inclusivity, empowerment, and the transformative power of sport.

Well done to Rossbourne School on winning the 2024 MDF Cup!
