The Somerville Tennis Club celebrated their 120th-anniversary on 11th of November 2023. 

The Somerville Tennis Club, with its 120-year legacy, currently boasts 75+ financial members and over 100 members in total. In attendance at the clubhouse was Paul Mercurio MP, Cr Kate Roper, and Georgia Wise from Tennis Victoria. 

Mercurio congratulated the club on it’s milestone:

“It was fantastic to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the Somerville Tennis Club today. They’ve got such a rich and successful history in terms of endurance & championships. I wish them a happy 120 more years.” 

In recognition of her unwavering commitment, the committee bestowed upon President Karyn Dickens a well-deserved Life Membership. Dickens also received a Tennis Victoria Tennis Service Award, recognising her outstanding contributions to the sport.

Karyn has been on the Somerville Tennis Club Committee since 2005 and has held the position of President since 2012. She is the face of the club, reliable and dependable and drives the clubs fundraising and sponsorship
