Mornington Tennis Centre are going from strength to strength. This year, Mornington Tennis Centre has focused on the inclusion on a diverse range of players and the community including, holding a Tennis Australia Sanctioned Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in April.

Additionally, Mornington Tennis Centre held a UTR Team Challenge Event with Tennis Fiji, providing playing and training opportunities for the players at the club.

The Club supported First Nations Juniors to play competition for the club by providing Scholarships for First Nation Players providing them with a $0 Membership fee.

In conjunction with Mornington Peninsula Shire, the club held an all-abilities day with over 200 participations which was a huge success.

Moving forward, Mornington Tennis Centre is focusing on the upgrade of its facilities including upgrading all 12 courts to LED lights, installing more court/spectator seating through Replas Recycled Products, installing shading areas for spectators and purchasing new singles sticks for all courts for tournaments.

Mornington Tennis Centre have also provided local community involvement by assisting local schools in the area for SSV School Sport, holding a number of school fundraisers and holding council election forums at the Club.

The Club pride itself on a warm and inclusive involvement with a friendly atmosphere for all. With a safe space for children after school, different groups such as the GenU disability group, 60+ social tennis, it is an inclusive environment for all players and all abilities.

In 2023 the club and the coaches have dedicated time and resources into growing tennis at the Club. The coaches have introduced a Performance and Development Squad Pathway, from orange ball to advanced level players. This restructure has shown successful as the club now has 18 Junior Teams in the PTA Comp, the highest number of teams out of any club within the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

The Club has increased its senior teams by 80% for the coming Summer Season. The club has shown positive trend in growth for junior teams, senior teams and night tennis competition, whilst market research shows clubs within the Shire declining.

Mornington Tennis Centre continues to providing playing opportunities such as tournaments and UTRS, and is the only club within the Shire to provide a Wheelchair Tournament, Junior ITF and State Championships.

Hosting UTR Events, Hot Shots and everything in between, Mornington Tennis Centre is providing a great space for tennis in the community. Congratulations Mornington Tennis Centre on being Tennis Victoria’s Affiliate of the Month!
