Phillip Hunt has been an integral part of Moolap Tennis Club since his arrival in 1975. His contribution to the club spans some 46 years holding various executive and committee positions including President from 1998-2001 and various long stints as Secretary.

Phillip’s greatest passion has always been the development, coaching and encouragement of junior players. He would usually spend two nights a week & Saturdays with juniors, helping them learn the game with plenty of fun, encouragement, effective communication, and skills-based activities. For a brief period, Phillip also served on the Tennis Geelong Junior competition committee.

Phillip’s dedication and passion for tennis and the club, his commitment to volunteering and his strong work ethic has the club where is it today. Currently the longest serving member of the Moolap TC, Phil also holds the record for longest position held – Secretary for 18 years and counting.

Phillip has received the President’s Cup, awarded by the Club President to the best club person an impressive 6 times. He was awarded Life Membership in 1990.

Well regarded in the Geelong tennis community for his unquestionable dedication, commitment, and length of service to the game of tennis, the sport is lucky to have someone like Phil inspiring others on and off the court.

Congratulations Phil and thank you for your contribution to Tennis in Victoria.
