  1. Match Play Pathway
    (what match play programs are on offer and how do they look)
  2. Match Play Calendar
    (balance of offering, timing of events and accessibility for all Queensland players)
  3. Rating/ranking systems
    (Which system should be used to organise competitions, seed players and grade teams)
  4. Behaviour at tennis events
    (consumer experience, enjoyment, respect, education)
  5. Officials
    (integrity of competition, enforcement of code of behavior, attraction of officiating role)

Stages of The Review

The Review includes multiple stages of stakeholder consultations to guarantee that recommendations will be guided by what the QLD tennis community thinks as a collective. The Review is led by a Project Group and guided by the TQ Match Play Committee, a sub-committee of the TQ Board. It is conducted in 4 phases:

  1. Initial consultation / Idea collection – complete
  2. Initial findings – complete
  3. Trial of prototype UTR events – complete
  4. consultation phases with all stakeholder groups in all TQ regions (incl. coaches, club volunteers, players, parents, competition deliverers and tournament directors, officials), 1 on 1 interviews and extensive online survey – complete
  5. Draft report and findings – complete
  6. Implementation phase – commenced
