Long standing Tennis ACT CEO, Ross Triffitt has announced his resignation.

He plans to oversee a smooth transition and will finish his tenure around February 2017.

He said his decision to depart was a tough one, however as the longest standing CEO within Tennis Australia, it was time.

“As the current longest standing CEO within Tennis Australia, I now feel it is appropriate to handover to a new CEO who can bring a renewed energy and vigour to Tennis ACT and tackle the challenges ahead.”

Ross has led the Tennis ACT team since March 2009 and will leave with full confidence in the current state of the organisation.

“I believe we have great leadership from one of the best Board’s in the country and a high performing team of staff with an excellent culture, again the best in the country,” he said.

“The newly redeveloped Canberra Tennis Centre, record growth in membership and a busy event calendar reflect the quality of the performance of the organisation under the Tennis ACT Board’s leadership and the staff’s actions.

Highlights of his time include the $28m redevelopment of the Canberra Tennis Centre, 35 per cent growth in membership, 24 per cent growth in registered players and a comprehensive tournament calendar which is expected to provide an economic benefit to the Territory of $13.7m over the 3 years.

In the past 12-months, he has lead Tennis ACT through implementation plans of Electronic Gate Access facilities and Book a Court online systems at Canberra community clubs, which shows great promise for public ease of access to tennis in the Territory.

In more recent times, Ross has had an active role with the planning and implementation of the Tennis ACT Walk of Fame – a permanent legacy now at The Canberra Tennis Centre for past, present and future generations.

“I have enjoyed every minute of my tenure as CEO of Tennis ACT. I leave knowing that tennis is positioned well within the Territory and I look forward to seeing its success under a new CEO.

Ross has accepted a new role with local company, Bisa Property, and plans to make the move in early 2017.

A recruitment process for the Tennis ACT CEO position has begun. Applications close on 23 November 2016.
