Congratulations to Canberra’s Nick Kyrgios, who in the month of August captured his 2nd ATP title for 2016 at Atlanta in the US.

Nick defeated 3 times defending champion and top 20 player John Isner in the final to become the first male Australian player in almost 20 years to win 2 ATP tour events within the same calendar year.

Nick rose to a career high ranking of No.16 in the world and this gains him a top 16 seed for the US Open, in which he has won his first round. Unfortunately, Nick retired in the third round due to injury. Overall, congratulations on a great US Open campaign Nick.

Kaitlin Staines and Lisa Mays have continued on their winning ways in ITF junior events. At the recent ITF Oceania closed event in Fiji, Kaitlin again reached the singles and doubles final, whilst Lisa made the semi finals of the singles and doubles. Both made significant ranking gains, with Kaitlin now sitting at 125 in the world and Lisa at 240.

At the recent Parkes Junior Open the ACT sent a large contingent of players.
