For nearly all of May Canberra’s elite junior players stayed in Canberra, working hard on improving all aspects of their games. With a period of only one event interstate, being the Bathurst Bronze AMT/JT, it gave Tennis ACT an opportunity to kickstart the 2016 State League (junior and adult competitions). It’s been great to bring back past State League players, and for the up and coming juniors, it’s been a fantastic experience to play against adults who bring a variety of different game styles to the court.

For our professional players overseas, Nick Kyrgios has once again led the charge with a successful clay court season culminating in a 3rd round appearance at the French Open. Nick accumulated 450 ATP ranking points through the clay courts,  and is currently at a career high of 19 in the world heading into the grass events. We wish him all the best at Wimbledon 2016.
