Canberra’s Zac Donaldson and Annerly Poulos have taken out the singles titles at the 2015 Capital Open.  Both players were the 7th seeds, defeating several higher ranked players to win the titles.

In the Open Men’s singles, Donaldson beat doubles partner Luke Sarris in the quarters, before winning in 3 sets in the semis over top seed Ryan Frawley.  In the final he faced number 3 seed Luke Rankovich who defeated Jamieson Nathan in the semis.   After losing the first set 6-2, Donaldson rebounded to take the next 2 sets 6-3, 6-2.

In the Open Women’s singles, Annerly Poulos defeated number 1 seed Sarina Kang in the semis 6-2, 7-5.  In the final, she faced unseeded Yuri Katano, who had upset 2 seeds in previous rounds.  Katano took the first set 6-4, but Poulos rallied to come back and win 6-1, 6-2.

In the Open Men’s doubles, Donaldson capped off a great tournament, combining with Luke Sarris to defeat Jamieson Nathan and Daniel Green, 6-2, 6-2.  The Women’s doubles final was a closely contested match with Yuri Katano and Risako Morita edging out Sarina and Chorlida Kang 6-2, 6-7, 10-3.
