ACT and Canberra Velocity player, Alex Nancarrow has had an outstanding two weeks in Serbia taking out back to back singles doubles titles.

Alex took out the ITF singles title at the $10,000 event in Prokuplje, Serbia from the 22-28th June.  As the number 3 seed she breezed through the draw without dropping a set.  In the final she defeated Serbia’s Milana Spremo 6-1, 7-5.  In doubles she combined with Lina Gjorcheska from Macedonia with the number 1 seeds winning the final 6-2, 6-2.

Alex then backed up for another $10,000 ITF at the same venue.  Again as the number 3 seed, she made it through to the final without the loss of a set.  The final proved to be a tougher battle against number 5 seed, Lilla Barzo, but Alex came out on top 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.  In doubles she combined with Spain’s Estrella Cabeza-Candela to win a hard fought battle 2-6, 6-4, 10-6.

Prokuplje has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Alex, after she won her first title there in 2014.  Alex now has 3 ITF singles titles and is expected to see her current ranking of 438 rise in Monday’s ranking release.
