Reporting to the National Academy Head Coach – ACT & SE NSW, Tennis Australia are seeking a Full Time, Permanent Talent Development Manager – ACT & SE NSW. You will be responsible for managing, implementing and delivering locally, the Tennis Australia (TA) Project Talent strategic priorities and objectives.

Project Talent is the base of the Athlete Development pathway and this position will be responsible for the integration with the respective Athlete Development environment locally. This role is primarily responsible for ‘fuelling’ the National Academy environments with future talent – and all activities relating to this objective.

You will have strong relationships with key coaches and operators and a good understanding of the needs of coaches and players in ACT & SE NSW and will manage the execution of all aspects of TA’s Project Talent programs.

To succeed in this exciting position, we require you to have previous experience in identifying and developing talented young athletes and the ability to build professional relationships with coaches of all levels and backgrounds. Additionally you will need current First Aid qualifications and a Working with Children Check, as well as the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

•    Alignment with the tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Loyalty and Teamwork
•    Proven ability to develop and implement a high performance program for the development of talented athletes
•    Extensive experience coaching tennis at an elite national or international level and a successful track record – passion for younger age range
•    Proven knowledge of all aspects of development (technical, tactical, physical and psychological) and on-court decision making strategies
•    Knowledge of international trends in tennis and tennis coaching
•    Strong knowledge of competency-based training principles
•    Flexibility regarding work schedules and training hours
