September & October has seen a lot of ACT’s junior players back in action with 2 tournaments held in Canberra at the National Sports Club as well as the NSW Junior Championships Platinum event held in Sydney.

The standout performer in these events was 11 year old Annerly Poulos.  Annerly reached her first final in a 12/u singles Platinum event at the NSW Junior Champs (this event is like a National Title). Annerly won 2 hard fought 3 set matches in the quarter and semi-finals before going down to the No.1 seed in the final 6-2,6.3. Prior to this event, Annerly won the 12/u girls singles at the Canberra Junior Open and also reached the final of the Women’s White AMT singles – both held at the National Sports Club on the clay courts. Annerly is already ranked No.1 in Australia in her birth year and with these results has climbed to 390 in the Australian Rankings.
