Melbourne Park played host to the inaugural Inter-Academy Challenge at the weekend, with over 60 regional juniors attending from across the state.

A new initiative by Tennis Victoria in 2015, the event aimed to give like-minded regional players an opportunity to test themselves against their peers. Athletes were also given a tour of Melbourne Park and were treated to a message by 2015 Australian and US Open Wheelchair Quad Singles Champion Dylan Alcott.

All seven Victorian Tennis Academies were represented at Melbourne Park, and after a total of 420 matches played, it was the Gippsland Academy who took home overall honours.
