Athlete Development update – September

Well done to 15 year old Annerly Poulos who has had a fantastic month of results on the 18/u ITF junior circuit. Annerly started at the Fiji B2 event where she reached the doubles and singles semifinals and then backed this up the next week by winning the singles and reaching the final of the doubles at the ITF Grade 3 event in Sydney.  Annerly and the Junior Fed Cup team then travelled to Europe to compete on 2 x ITF junior events on clay to gain valuable matches in the lead up to the Junior Fed Cup Finals to be held in Budapest next week. Annerly went on an incredible run of wins, taking out the singles and doubles titles at both Grade 3 events in Holland and Italy. During the past month she has improved her ITF junior ranking from 430 in the world in July to a career high No.86 currently. It places her as the 5th highest ranked player in her birth year in the world.

Following this, Annerly headed to Budapest, Hungary where she represented Austalia in the Junior Fed Cup Finals alongside Olivia Gadecki (Qld) and Anastasia Berezov (NSW).  After coming second in their pool, the team went on to finish in sixth position.
