Congratulations to Canberra’s 11 year old Charlie Camus, who has won back to back singles titles in the past two weeks. Charlie took out the 12/u boys singles and doubles at the Victorian Country Championships in Wodonga and then won the 12/u boys singles title at the Bathurst Silver Junior Tour event. Charlie is currently ranked No.2 in his birth year in Australia, however is striving towards the No.1 ranking and these two titles will certainly edge him closer to that goal.

Also in Wodonga, Leah Williamson had an outstanding event, reaching the final of the AMT womens singles and winning the AMT womens doubles event with her Canberra partner Alyssa Simoncini.

And congratulations to 15 year old’s Ashleigh Simes and Annerly Poulos, who both gained their first WTA singles ranking points this week at the $60,000 Canberra womens pro event. Ashleigh defeated the No.2 nationally ranked player in the 2001 birth year, Isabella Bozicevic, in the 1st round of qualifying, whilst Annerly defeated two WTA ranked players before going down in a very close match to Japanese player Ramu Ueda in the final round of qualifying.
