National Academy Canberra athlete Tallulah Farrow is ready to fire as she prepares for the ACT Claycourt International #1 set to commence at the Canberra Tennis Centre on Saturday 17 March.

The seventeen year old will feature in qualifying and is looking forward to competing at her home venue.

“I’m really excited to play, I haven’t played many Pro Tours so this is a good opportunity at home, I know the courts and I’m hitting the ball really well.

“I am keen to see if I can win a few rounds and hopefully I can qualify.”

With USD$60,000 in prizemoney on offer it will be the highest level Pro Tour event that Farrow has played, with the teenager ready for the challenge ahead.

“I know it will be tough.  I know it’s going to be a hard match tomorrow morning, but I’m just going to go out there and give it my best shot and see what happens and hopefully I can do well.”

Farrow will be looking to increase the number of Pro Tour events she plays in 2018 as she works to establishing a WTA ranking but says her main priority is around quality match play.

“I’m focusing on getting a lot of tournaments in, building my game and getting a lot of matches, volume is really key to my game right now.”

Farrow will face Bojana Marinkov in the opening round, with only two spots separating the pair in the Australian Rankings.

Fellow Canberra players Annerly Poulos and Ashleigh Simes will also be in action on Saturday with Poulos first up at 10am against Alexandra Walters (SA).  Simes will then follow against Isabella Bozicevic (Qld)

Entry to the Canberra Tennis Centre is free with play to commence at 10am.
