Canberra based podiatry chain, The Walking Clinic, has confirmed a two-year partnership with Tennis ACT as Major Supporter of Adult Pennant, Tennis ACT’s largest inter club competition.

A traditional form of a local tennis league, Adult Pennant engages with just under 2,000 participants across more than 20 tennis clubs within Canberra and Queanbeyan.

The two-year partnership will offer valuable incentives to Adult pennant participants as well as directly support the delivery of the sport in Canberra.

Tennis ACT CEO Kim Kachel said he is pleased to be working so closely with a local company to improve community tennis competition.

“A strong league structure is important to ensure players are being given competitive opportunities,” he said.

“The team environment is a perfect place to develop not only tennis but a great tennis culture. We look forward to working with The Walking Clinic to promote a growing local business to the local sport scene.”

The Walking Clinic was founded by Richard Lee in June 1978, the first fully operational Podiatry Centre in Canberra. The business has expanded over the years, now having multiple locations across the capital.

The Walking Clinic team strives to keep at the forefront of technology and are constantly under taking new training and technological advances to provide the best treatment possible.

They offer specialised solutions in foot care, sports injuries, children’s foot development, biomechanics and orthotics, and diabetic care.

The Walking Clinic Director Ricky Lee, said the Walking Clinic team is excited to be aligned with such a time honoured and dedicated local sport.

“In our day-to-day clinic we treat many people with various sporting injuries and there is no greater satisfaction for us than keeping people on the field, or in this case, on the court,” he said.

“This partnership is a perfect fit for us, we aim to provide as much support as possible to the tennis community and specifically, the Adult Pennant competition in the ACT and region.”

The Spring Adult Pennant season commences on Saturday September 2. More.
