50 ACT tennis club representatives provided valuable feedback to Tennis ACT and Tennis Australia regarding the Book a Court pilot program on May 16 at the Canberra Tennis Centre.

Book a Court is an online court booking and payment platform for affiliated tennis clubs. Three ACT tennis clubs participated in the initial Book a Court pilot, with 10 local clubs now using the system.

Tennis Australia Club Development Manager, Rob Knee shared Book a Court news and developments, and provided support to attendees alongside Tennis ACT Participation Leader, Jake Lalliard.

The club forum also featured Tennis ACT CEO, Kim Kachel, who shared an overview of the member associations key strategies and business priorities.

“We are really pleased with the turnout at the first club forum for 2017”, he said.

“It is clear that our tennis community is engaged with the sport and they are keen to build new connections with Canberrans.”

An event highlight included an educational talk by Manager of Industry Development, Steve Marquis, who spoke to the group about developing club management models. Marquis is set to follow up with attendees again later in the year in Canberra.

The Autumn Tennis ACT club forum was the start of a series of 2017 forum style events designed to inform, educate and hear from local tennis clubs on business operations and local tennis participation strategies.

22 out of 24 ACT tennis clubs attended the event.
