Can the RSY Royals claim back to back National Playoff titles?

Tennis Victoria is excited to announce that team applications are now open for the 2014 Asia Pacific Tennis League South East Conference, closing 5pm Monday 29 September 2014.

The Asia Pacific Tennis League has gone from strength to strength over the past two years and will continue its fast development with the inclusion of both men’s and women’s Tasmanian team in 2014. The Victorian Conference is now part of the ATL South East Conference.

Across the country, the league has also transformed with the creation of the ATL South West Conference – with the merging of the South Australia and Western Australia leagues as one. Both states have been given three team licenses. The competition will also see a change in the player payment scheme from Tennis Australia, with the introduction of a salary floor payment of $3750 per team to be distributed to the selected teams to distribute to their team members in any way they choose, with no salary capping.

Tennis Victoria’s Competitions Manager Jeff Downes is excited about the summer ahead. “The Conference this year will commence on Friday 28 November and conclude with the final on Sunday 14 December at the National Tennis Centre indoor courts.

One of the highlights that lies ahead will be Round 2 on Sunday 30 November, when all men’s and women’s matches will be played in Yarrawonga as part of a country festival of tennis. And we’ll also have the inaugural Tasmanian Super Round on Sunday 7 December.

Victoria has had great success at the National Playoffs – with the Liston Seagulls winning the Men’s title in 2012, and last year the RSY Royals winning the women’s title. I am sure our Conference will again produce a high standard.”

Further information and team application forms are available on the ATL South East Conference website.
