3 December 2015 | Tennis ACT

Do you love tennis? Did you enjoy watching the 2015 Canberra International? Are you counting down to the upcoming Australian Summer of Tennis?

If so then we invite you to consider tennis officiating. You not only get the best seat in the house but you can also live out your love of the sport.

Officials were in action at the recent 2015 Canberra International at the newly redeveloped Canberra Tennis Centre at Lyneham.

“Officiating offers a unique opportunity for all people to further explore their passion and love of tennis” explains Martin Oosthuysen, Officiating Development Coordinator NSW/ACT.

“Anyone can become an official, with Tennis Australia offering a clear development pathway for officials to learn a little bit more about the rules and roles of officiating in the classroom, then progress to on court practice with support from local officials.”

So if you would like to be part of the action with world class tennis now finding a home in Canberra – come and be a part of the officiating team!

A free Come and Try Officiating session will be held on: Saturday 12 December 2015, 1.00-2.00pm at the Canberra Tennis Centre, Riggall St Lyneham.

The purpose of this day is to invite you to have a go at chair umpiring and line umpiring and see what you think! More information will then be available about next steps and upcoming opportunities.

Please bring yourself, some comfortable clothes and a curious mind!
