9 May 2014 | Tennis ACT

The Lord’s Taverners Disability Super Clinic annually enables some 200 disabled children to actively participate in a range of sporting activities.

On Friday 9th May the Lord’s Taverners Disability Super Clinic was held at the MPowerdome.

Lord’s Taverners ACT Branch has now sponsored the Disability Super Clinic for 4 years . The initial Clinic, organised by ACT Cricket and Actsport for 200 disabled children was held in May 2009 at Mpowerdome, Tuggeranong and called the Lord’s Taverners Disability Super Clinic. It has been held at the Mpowerdome in May June since then.

Throughout the day the kids rotated through each station in 20 minute intervals. On the Tennis court the kids were given a taste of what it was like to hit the Tennis ball and also have a lot of fun at the same time.

The focus of the day is on differing motor skills, with participants competing either in teams or individually. The level of sound emanating from the children indicated their total enjoyment in the day!
