** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT **
Unfortunately all Semi Final matches today have been cancelled due to wet weather.
As stated in the by-laws, in the event that the Semi Finals cannot be played those teams finishing in 1st and 2nd position will contest the Grand Final.
A revised Grand Final fixture for tomorrow will be available once court and presentation venues have been confirmed.

It is appropriate that we provide an update regarding finals this weekend in light of the current weather forecast for Saturday morning.
At this stage we will progress with semi-final matches as scheduled to be played on Saturday morning at Shepparton Lawn and Kialla Park. The Shepp Lawn curator seems confident the courts will hold up if only a small amount of rain.
As you can see from the Finals Adverse Weather by law which is reprinted below all finals are to be completed this weekend.
We ask that if the weather is wet on Saturday morning that everyone is patient as we work through to getting a result.
We will explore all options to try and get a semi final result.
If we are unable to play on lawn Saturday morning, but play is possible on hard courts, we have allocated the following courts to be available.
A1 McEwen Reserve
B1 McEwen Reserve
B2 Mooroopna
B3 Shepparton North
C1 McEwen Reserve
C2 Lawn Hard courts
D1 Kialla Park
At this stage all teams should plan to play semi finals at Shepp Lawn and Kialla Park unless notified otherwise.
Kind Regards,
Geoff Akers
President SJTA

Adverse Weather By-Law
In the event of rain occurring when a finals match has commenced the following will occur:
(1) The supervisor, in consultation with team managers, assess whether the courts are unfit for play. The site referee and or a member of the association committee, may be consulted. (2011)
(2) All finals matches are to be played to completion of all sets. However, if one team is in an unbeatable position, then that team will be deemed the winner.(1999)
(3) In the event of rain stopping the completion of all sets, then sets not completed previously will normally be completed the next Saturday/Sunday unless otherwise decided by the Executive. Completed sets will stand.
(4) Sets which are partially played will be deemed incomplete and will recommence with a nil all scoreline.
(5) Clubs with players unavailable from the incompleted final may apply in writing, with reasons, to the Executive, for permission to include other eligible players.
(6) Court venues remain the same. (1998 & 2011)
(7) In the event of the semi-finals are unable to be played due to adverse weather, the two teams on top of the ladder automatically progress to the Grand Final. In the event of the Grand Finals are unable to be played due to adverse weather, the highest ranked team be declared the Premiers.
All finals to be completed on the weekend scheduled. (2019)
