MDTA News

While the rain was great for the farmers, gardens and tanks, it played havoc with the Saturday afternoon competition, raining enough in the morning leaving no choice but to call the afternoon off. The sun coming out later in the day to dry everything off, but a little too late to alter the cancellation. So, the tables remain static this week.

In the Thursday ladies table Windon had a big win to break away from the pack to lead 2nd placed Gallagher by 13pts while Cheetham is in 3rd trailing by 16pts. In the Wednesday ladies Mortimer is still holding 1st place even after having the bye this week but the margin has dropped from 9pts to 5pts with Spalding also holding firm in 2nd place with a handy 10pt lead over Bower/Terry in 3rd. The Tuesday ladies still sees Briggs sitting in top spot with a slightly increased lead of 9pts ahead of Barnes who have just kept their nose in front of 3rd placed Bowling by a mere 1pt.

This weekend sees the conclusion of the Saturday competition. Due to numbers and varied finishing times, there will be no formal presentation of winners or BBQ.

The next competitions for Saturdays s listed as a pairs competition with entries closing on the 28/4.

The Board of Control will be meeting on the 8/4. All are welcome to attend or ideas/comments for discussion can be forwarded to the secretary or your club delegates.
