ANZ has extended its relationship with Australian tennis after entering a two-year partnership with Tennis ACT, furthering their support of grassroots junior tennis.

ANZ is also in partnership nationally with Tennis Australia and the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program.

The two-year ACT based partnership will recognise ANZ as naming rights partner of the largest inter-club junior tennis competition in the ACT, now ANZ Junior Pennant, alongside the now ANZ Junior Development Series (JDS) in the ACT, a series of introductory tournaments for beginner and intermediate players designed to give players their first tournament experience.

ANZ will also support a number of local community events, including the Tennis ACT Awards, held annually.

Tennis ACT CEO, Kim Kachel, said he is delighted to be working with ANZ, furthering grass roots community tennis to encourage kids to be healthy and active.

“The ACT has achieved incredible participation growth via the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program, a 177 per cent increase in 12 months to 7,831 participants,” he said.

“To have ANZ on board is a great fit for us, it extends the national relationship and connects ANZ to the ACT junior player pathway.”

Kachel explained how ANZ now supports the entire junior participation pathway in the ACT from start to finish.

“Thousands of kids are starting their tennis journey, getting a positive first tennis experience at their school part of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program. They can naturally transition to ANZ Tennis Hot Shots Coaching and Match Play and then progress further by participating in ANZ Junior Pennant and play in ANZ Junior Development Series ACT tournaments at various local tennis clubs.”

ANZ District Manager, Nadine Maroney, said ANZ is keen to connect with the Canberra tennis community.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for us to strengthen our support for the ACT community through grassroots junior tennis and expand on our successful national sponsorship of tennis.”

“Connecting with the tennis community throughout the ACT is another way we can help shape a world where people and communities thrive, and we are very proud of this partnership.”
