This is the big chance for any Canberra tennis player over the age of 35 to be involved. These events will be in Canberra in January 2015. The Teams Carnival is from 5-9 January and the Individual Championships from 11-16 January.
Join us for a week of competitive but social tennis at the Australian Teams Carnival. The Australian Teams Carnival is a wonderful opportunity to compete against teams and players from all over Australia and overseas. If there are sufficient teams, there will be more than one section in each age group so you play players of your own standard.
The teams are made up of 4-6 players in 5 year age groups – 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80. Teams will get up to 8 matches during the first week. Teams play up to two matches per day, morning and afternoon, with a time limit of 2.5 hours per match. Matches consist of 4 doubles rubbers played on two courts. Each rubber consists of two sets or 9 games for the 75 and 80 age groups.
Team members play in matching State shirts or tops and shorts and skirts.
