Tennis ACT has strengthened its oldest tennis competition with the announcement of locally-owned retailer Supabarn Supermarkets as the new Major Supporter of the Adult Pennant competition. 

With more than 1,400 people actively participating at thirty venues throughout the ACT and surrounding regions, Adult Pennant is the leading interclub competition for singles and doubles tennis players of all standards. 

“The Adult Pennant competition dates back to the 1930s, and is one of the most important participation programs for club tennis in the community,” CEO of Tennis ACT Ross Triffitt said.

“It’s become an integral part of the sport’s competition pathway and supports the transition of junior players into professional athletes.

“We are excited to welcome Supabarn on board and hope to forge even stronger ties with local clubs and their members through this longstanding competition.”  

Supabarn is an independent supermarket chain founded in Canberra in 1991 and has become a recognised brand in the local retail landscape. The organisation is the region’s largest private retailer with more than 1,000 employees.
