18 November 2010 | Tennis ACT

On the 18th November, the Australian Open Trophies visited Canberra as part of the nationwide Australian Open Trophy Tour.

First stop for the trophies was Parliament House were Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, Member for Bennelong John Alexander and Sports Minister Mark Arbib all posed with the trophies before enjoying a game of tennis with some local MLC Tennis Hot Shots kids.

The trophies then moved on to the AIS and Forrest Tennis Club where local athletes, members of the tennis community and the general public were able to have their pictures taken with the trophies. (Click here for photos and more info).

Tennis ACT would like to thank everyone involved in making the day a huge success and we look forward to seeing the trophies complete the remainder of their journey to Melbourne Park for the 2011 Australian Open.
