Tasmanian school girl Alicia Dale has claimed back-to-back titles, winning the coveted Australia Cup for a second time. The Australia Cup is the Australian secondary school singles event played in conjunction with the Pizzey Cup. Dale defeated second seed Alice Stevens 6-2, 6-3, marking a dominant week for her, not losing a set on her path to victory.
Dale made history in 2024, becoming the first Tasmanian girl to win the title in 44 years, in front of a home crowd. This year in Bendigo, she became just the third girl to win the prestigious title twice in its 47 year history.
The victory adds to a very successful 12 months for Dale, having also won two junior ITF singles titles and a junior ITF doubles title.
