The third round of the inaugural SRT Logistics Premier League was held in humid conditions at Sunshine Tennis Club, with just one club-affiliated team remaining undefeated at the end of Saturday’s play.
Aiming to chalk up their maiden win on home turf, Sunshine Main St. Financial Solutions ultimately fell short against Domain Two-Folk Espresso, with the Western Shore side’s Casey Ambler, Ben Fergusson and Joab Littler combining for a convincing afternoon of results.
In a battle of the two Geilston Bay teams, Tassie Awards & Trophies emerged victorious over club mates Ace Tennis Coaching, handing the previously undefeated ladder-leaders their first loss of the season in the process. Sam Edgar led from the front for the victors, claiming wins in both the singles and doubles lines, with Jack Derrick and Lachlan Brown providing valuable support.
Domain Whisk & Co Café continued their strong form, claiming all four rubbers in their match-up against Glenorchy Stringlab. Edward Bourchier and Jakob Haas again were standout performers, with Dave Hoppitt combining with the aforementioned duo to feature in two comprehensive doubles wins respectively.
The upcoming weekend will see Round 4 of competition held at the Geilston Bay Tennis Club, with second-placed Geilston Bay Ace Tennis Coaching to host a top of the table clash against the immovable Domain Whisk & Co Café outfit.
In other match-ups, Geilston Bay Tassie Awards & Trophies will meet Domain Two-Folk Espresso while Glenorchy Stringlab will take on Sunshine Main St. Financial Solutions.
The weekend will also double as a Sponsor Appreciation Day to thank the seven local businesses involved in the inaugural SRT Logistics Premier League for their generous support this season.
