CONGRATULATIONS to Daniel Groom in claiming the 2016 Tennis Australia Cup Singles Championship!
Daniel played great tennis in the Championships, not dropping a set on his way to the final in an impressive performance against some quality opposition throughout the whole week.
In the Championship final, Daniel fought back from a set down to defeat Georgije Babic, 3-6 7-5 6-3, a sterling effort that resulted in a worthy win.
Daniel was also representing Tasmania at the Pizzey Cup, run in tandem with the Tennis Australia Cup, where he was also undefeated in all his team matches.
To cap off his efforts in the Tennis Australia Cup, Daniel was also named in the Australian Merit tennis Team. The Australian Merit team consists of those players based on their ability to perform, sportsmanship and teamwork. An outstanding achievement for Daniel on all accounts and we applaud his determination, skill and application.
