Congratulations to Victoria Fish from Jericho for being selected as the first winner of the Medibank Healthy Attitude Awards for the month of May. Victoria was chosen from the whole of Australia and was presented with this fantastic achievement during the Sorell Medibank Junior Development Series tournament this past weekend.

These unique awards which reward fair play and a healthy attitude are a great initiative from Medibank and have been very well received throughout the Medibank Junior Development Series community.

Victoria was nominated at the Riverside Medibank Junior Development Series by club president Rod Meldrum. Meldrum was impressed with Victoria’s excellent sportsmanship and that regardless of the score she always had a beaming smile on her face. Meldrum also noted that for Victoria’s first tournament it was remarkable how clear she was with scoring. “Victoria would shout out the score every point. At the conclusion of the match Victoria would run to the net with a huge smile and thank her opponents. These Medibank Awards are tailor made for a player with Victoria’s energy and attitude”.

As being judged out of Australia as the monthly winner Victoria received a Healthy Attitude Award medallion as well as a $50 EFTPOS Gift Card. Victoria is also now in the running to win the 2013 grand prize of a family trip to the Australian Open!

Throughout this May period the following two players were nominated for their healthy attitude and fair play throughout these tournaments.

  • Fergus Eastaugh – Nominated at the Riverside MJDS
  • Olivia Maskell – Nominated at the Glenorchy MJDS

Nominations for these healthy attitude awards are available at each Junior Development tournament from May – October so please ask the tournament director if they are not displayed during the event.

Once again congratulations to all nominees and Victoria for being awarded the Medibank Healthy Attitude Award monthly winner!
