On a windy afternoon at the Glenorchy Tennis Club Senior standout Jon Aufder-Heide was voted the 2012 Arthur Matthews 35+ Seniors Player of the Year. Jon was a unanimous decision for this prestigious honour which was voted on by the Tasmanian seniors committee. Remarkably this is Jon’s sixth player of the year honour dating back to 2003.

Known for his witty humour and charm Jon has been an integral cog in Tasmanian seniors tennis for many years. It is through his hard work and dedication the we are able to put on these 35+ Seniors Tournaments.

In 2012 Jon had the following results in Tasmania;

  • Riverside 35+ Seniors Championships
    • 55 Singles Winner
    • Mixed Doubles Winner (Combined Age)
  • Hobart 35+ Seniors Championships
    • 50 Men’s Doubles Winner
    • 60 Men’s Singles Winner
  • Tasmanian 35+ Seniors Championships

With this remarkable display of consistency through not only play but supporting Tasmanian seniors events it is no surprise Jon has received this honour.
