In 2010 Tennis Tasmania wants to increase the number of competitive opportunities for its junior players.  To do this we created a state wide ITN series and it has already begun to take off.

In an ITN tournament, rather than players being sorted by gender or age, they are grouped by their ability.  This makes for more tightly contested matches and more enjoyment for the players. Players compete in a round robin style of tournament against the other players in their group.  This ensures that all children get at least two or three matches during the tournament.

So far in 2010 over there have been 3 ITN events held in Tasmania. There have been more than 100 participants over these 3 tournaments and Tennis Tasmania look forward to even more kids getting involved in these fun tournaments.  Playing in a tournament is a great way for children to improve their game, play competitive matches, make friends and most importantly enjoy their tennis.

The 2010  ITN Tournament Calendar can be found on the Tournaments page of the Tennis Tasmania website. For further information on ITN tournaments please contact Nick Hudson – [email protected] or (03) 6108 8105.
