DETAILS AND APPLY – click here
NT girls aged 14-18 you can now apply for your spot on the “Learn2Lead” program which is making it’s way to the NT for the first time. It is such a great opportunity to build confidence, life & leadership skills.
The ideal participant for the program is connected to a tennis club and tennis through playing (at any level), volunteering, coaching or officiating. The program has also been opened up to other relevant partners which also have a connection to tennis, for example within schools and communities where tennis is embedded in a meaningful way.
WHO CAN APPLY:
Girls aged 14-18 from the NT that have a connection to NT tennis clubs and tennis will be prioritised for places in the program. The program has also been opened to Seda College students.
We would love for eligible girls who have a connection to clubs to apply. To help participants from Alice Springs Tennis Club, Katherine Tennis Club, and Gove Peninsula Tennis Club we can confirm that travel costs* (see info below) will be covered for girls and a parent/guardian who get accepted in the program.
Regarding content – some of the content of the course is more geared towards older teenagers, for example, graduating high school. Also, topics like womens’ rights, menstruation, and community leadership are part of the program. Of course these are all topics that young women will come across, but some may be uncomfortable discussing those topics in a group of their peers especially when a few years difference in age can quite a gulf in experience when you are a teenager.

Ready to Rally was supported by DITC and Tennis Palmerston– it was targeted at getting teenage girls to try tennis in a relaxed and supportive environment, it was successful and is continuing this year.
