The Grand Final of the Junior Tennis League was looming to be a great encounter between the Buffalo’s, who had been on top of the ladder for the duration of the minor rounds and the Barra’s, who had sat at the bottom for most of the competition.

The Barra’s got an early lead in the opening round singles with Liam Franklin and Rebecca Rayner claiming their matches in straight sets, while the other two singles were drawn at one set all.   The Boy’s and Girl’s doubles were also undecided with each team winning one set. Going into the mixed doubles the Buffalo’s needed to win both matches in straight sets for a count back.  However the Barra’s could taste the victory, claimed both matches with Franklin and Rayner combining to defeat Peter Politis and Rosie Henderson 4-1 4-1 while Nicholas Carmichael and Grace Henderson defeated Callum Saunders and Stephanie Rayner 4-3 4-1 for a four rubbers to nil victory and the first Junior Tennis League Premiership.

Third and Fourth play-off was a closely contested encounter between the Croc’s and the Frillie’s.  The Croc’s had the early lead after the singles with Kenneth Prete and Eilis Kruger winning their respective singles. Frillie’s number 2, Coen Hutt keep them within reach with his 4-0 4-2 win over Ashley Setterfield. Hutt then teamed with Kyle O’Donoghue-Ellis to take the Boy’s doubles and level the score. Going into the mixed doubles the score was level at 2 rubbers all; either side had the chance to win. Hutt claimed his third win of the evening, teaming with Serena Adams for a 4-1 4-0 win over Setterfield and Lauren Riggall. However, Prete and Kruger claimed the other mixed for the Croc’s and levelling the score a three rubbers all. The count back came down to games with the Frillie’s coming out on top 41 games to 40 games over the Croc’s.
