Andy Murray (Alice Springs) and Kevin Anderson (Coconut Grove) have advanced to the 3rd Round of the Australian Open and keep both towns alive in the AO Blitz.

Coconut Grove will take on unseeded Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin (Hay, NSW) while Alice Springs will be up against the 29th seeded Spaniard Feliciano Lopez (Keith, SA).

The town with the winning Men’s and Women’s Champions will receive a community party.

Tennis Alice Springs coach, Matt Roberts and his team of traveling players were lucky enough to meet Murray during their recent visit to Melbourne Park, where they also got to watch the 2013 Wimbledon Champion train.

It will be fantastic if he does win because it means Tennis Australia will throw a massive party for the entire town and everyone is invited – even Andy is on the list…” said Robert “he’s currently number 4 in the world and has been runner-up for the last two years now, so he’s certainly in the mix”.

Good Luck Alice Springs and Coconut Grove with your respective 3rd Round matches.
