Tennis NT extends a huge thank you to Rohan Fisher (National Pathways and Touring Manager) and Ben Robertson (National Wellbeing Manager) for inviting our local NT junior talent to participate in the wellbeing and training components of the national camp here in Darwin.
The Tennis Australia National Camp coincided with the Junior ITF tournaments, bringing together 16 players from across the country. While the traveling national squad participated in a specialized Heat and Hydration Camp as a critical lead-in to their upcoming international tournaments, our local NT crew joined the group for the vital on-court training sessions and the comprehensive Wellbeing Camp.
The Wellbeing Camp focused on holistic athlete development, covering:
Community Spirit: Learning the importance of giving back to the tennis community.
Sports Psychology & Nutrition: Interactive sessions to build mental resilience and fuel the body correctly.
Hydration Science: Practical testing where players measured their fluid loss on the court to understand exactly how much water they need to consume before, during, and after a match.
This collaboration provided an incredible opportunity for NT players to sharpen their skills, learn healthy habits for international competition, and experience the rigors of high-performance training alongside Australia’s top junior talent – all beneficial to the upcoming Australian Teams Championships in June.
