Have you ever dreamed of being inches away from the world’s best tennis players? Being a ballkid is more than just a job on court—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

As a vital part of the NT Ballcrew, you’ll gain incredible life skills, build lifelong friendships, and experience the heart-pounding action of professional tennis from the best seat in the house.

The Role

Our Ballkids are the backbone of every match. You’ll support elite players and officials by managing court flow, staying sharp under pressure, and working as a high-performing team. To join our world-class environment, we look for:

  • Dedication: Commitment to training sessions.
  • Elite Standards: Exceptional behavior and attitude, both on and off the court.
  • Teamwork: A passion for supporting your crew and the players.

Elite Pathways & Opportunities

Being part of the NT program opens doors to major national stages:

  • Summer of Tennis Events: Our top-performing ballkids may be selected for exclusive leadership roles during the Australian ‘Summer of Tennis’ events (the Adelaide International, Hobart International, or the United Cup) or build their experience at international tournaments.
  • Top Gun Program: Up to 2 of NT’s best ballkids will be selected by the NT Ballkid Coordinator to represent the NT at the Australian Open 2027 – their chance to share the court with some of the games’ greatest players!
  • First Nations Program: We are proud to select ballkids from the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival (Darwin, 5–9 August). Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth.
