Tennis NT is thrilled to announce that Rohan Fisher, Tennis Australia’s National Pathways and Touring Manager, has officially joined us to support our local talent pathways and provide elite guidance to the next generation of Territory athletes.
Rohan has stepped in to kick off the Term 2 program, ensuring our high-performance environment remains world-class while Talent and Coach Manager Martin Rocca is overseas.
A Proven Track Record in the Territory
For Rohan, this is a homecoming of sorts. From the mid-2000s to the early 2010s, he served as the Talent Manager for both the NT and SA. During this tenure, he was instrumental in leading players from the Northern Territory to national titles in both singles and doubles, proving that Territory athletes can compete and win on the biggest stages in Australia.
Since moving into his national role at Tennis Australia, Rohan has become a cornerstone of the Australian professional circuit. His resume includes:
- High-Performance Coach: Holding the highest level of coaching qualification.
- Billie Jean King Cup: Serving as a national coach for the Australian women’s team.
- WTA Experience: Traveling the world and developing top-tier professional players, including Storm Hunter and Daria Saville.
Opening Doors to the World
In his current role as National Pathways and Touring Manager, Rohan is the architect of international opportunities for Australia’s top junior athletes. He oversees all national and international tours, giving young players the chance to compete globally.
He also manages National Camps where the best 12U, 13U, 14U, and 16U players in the country gather to train under Australia’s elite coaching staff. By having Rohan integrated into our local program, NT players gain a direct link to the standards and expectations of the national and international pathway.
Now he is additionally working with NT and Tasmania talent teams, alongside Martin Rocca (Tennis NT’s Talent and Coach Manager) and Emily Ooms-Webb (Tennis NT’s Pathways Lead)
What’s Next?
Rohan’s impact is already being felt on court this term, and the momentum is only growing. He will return to Darwin in just a few weeks to lead the 13s National Heat and Hydration Camp. This specialized camp is a critical lead-in to our upcoming Back-to-Back ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments, ensuring our players are physically and mentally prepared for the rigors of international competition.
“Having someone of Rohan’s calibre back on court in Darwin is a massive opportunity for our players. His experience on the WTA tour and his current role in national pathways brings a level of insight that is invaluable for our aspiring players.”
Please join us in welcoming “Fish” back to the Top End!
