Tennis Australia’s Green Ball Nationals is an exciting new pathway, elevating local Coloured Ball Competitions to a national stage!
This year, Northern Territory Green Ball players seized the opportunity to earn points across five fantastic tournaments held at various clubs:
• Mindil Beach Casino Resort Gardens Open: April 5-7
• Palmerston Open: April 9-11
• DITC Open: April 25-27
• Katherine Open: May 3-5
• 98th NT Open Championships: June 7-9
These Coloured Ball events ran alongside our Junior and Open events. This integrated approach effectively showcased our local pathway, seamlessly connecting coloured ball players with Junior and Open opportunities, and ultimately, providing opportunity for national exposure.
We were thrilled to see Green Ball Players from across the Territory competing in the points race. This commitment allowed them to maximize their court time, gain crucial match experience, and prepare for the upcoming Super 10’s seasons.
Through the Green Ball Points Race, a total of 4 NT players will earn the opportunity to compete at the Green Ball Nationals in September. The highest points scoring boy and girl will earn a wildcard to attend, with a playoff event hosted at the Darwin International Tennis Centre on July 18th for the deciding decision of the second boy and girl wildcard.
