Des McLellan was the saving grace for AWOF Sports, claiming both of their Rubbers. However, McLellan was made to work for this wins, both extended to the match tie-break. He defeated Harrison Lee-Schell 6-4 4-6 10-8, then teamed with Lucas Frichot to defeat Lee-Schell and Stephen Lewis-Driver 6-3 4-6 10-4.

Close matches in the doubles to start of the days play, Daniel Parker and Darren Jacobson (TP1) coming back from a set down to defeated Darrell Halim and Frank Wallner (GT2) 3-6 6-4 10-3. Then Ben ? and Bethany Illeman combined to defeated Andrew Hawke and Naomi Fellows 6-3 4-6 10-5.

Gardens Tennis 1 remain on top of the People’s Choice Metro League Ladder, 10 points clear of team mates Gardens Tennis 2 with Tennis Palmerston 1 only two points behind.

Daniel Parker (TP1) has a four point lead over Michael Shepheard (GT1) for the People’s Choice Metro League Player of the Year, followed by David Bridges (GT1), Oscar Ferdinands (AWOF) and Darrell Halim (GT2).
