The Katherine Tennis Club joined in the fun of the ‘Come and Try Sports Expo’ which was conducted by the Katherine Town Council on Saturday 9 February 2013.

The six court tennis club welcomed over 100 people through the gates, with 78 children registering on the day. Everyone got involved in the free activities on offer, including;
> MLC Tennis Hot Shots
> Social Hitting
> Hit the Target
> Beat the Ball-Machine
> and plenty of games and giveaways

Community Tennis Officer, Erin Bormann was assisted by the Club Committee and a small dedicated group of volunteers to assist the up and coming juniors with the modified MLC Tennis Hot Shots equipment.

“It was great to see so many enthusiastic children eager to practice and learn some new tennis skills.” said Katherine Tennis Club President, Kath Brummitt

“Thanks to the fantastic volunteers who provided fruit platters and helped out during the morning, it is really great to see so many adults supportive of children who are keen to play tennis.”

The Katherine Tennis Club ‘Come and Try Sports Expo’ day forms part of the Power and Water Regional Development Program.
