The Wyong Tennis Club has a long history with its early beginnings in 1919 when Les Warner organised the construction of two loam courts on his property known as Baker Park. During WWll the courts became overgrown and were eventually restored in 1947 coinciding with the formation of the Wyong District Tennis Association.

Following an agreement with Wyong Shire Council (WSC), land was made available to the Association in 1978 for the construction of tennis courts and a licensed Club at the current Rose Street site. This enabled Council to develop the current Baker Park Netball complex.

The Licensed Club was developed to support the maintenance and future upgrade of the tennis facility, however due to early debt and a number of arson attacks on the Licensed Club it struggled financially. In April 2009 the licensed premises closed due to insolvency and Wyong Shire Council took possession of the courts.

PUBLIC MEETING (October 2012)

As a consequence of the disparate nature of the groups using the courts, there was no single entity responsible for the vision of tennis for the centre or the overall management of the courts.

A public meeting held at the tennis courts on October 13th 2012, was resolved to re-form the Wyong District Tennis Association (WDTA) and negotiate with Wyong Shire Council to make available the courts to the tennis community and enable the Association to resume the management of the courts.

Subsequently, The Wyong District Tennis Association Inc has been registered and incorporated and an interim committee developed.
