Aussies Lleyton Hewitt and James Duckworth will open their US Open campaigns against a pair of Americans on Wednesday at Flushing Meadows.<\/p>\n

Hewitt, the champion in New York in 2001, takes on sentimental favourite Brian Baker, while in a battle of the wildcards, Duckworth faces Tim Smyczek, the world No.109.<\/p>\n

Hewitt and Duckworth will be aiming to join compatriot Bernard Tomic in the second round.<\/p>\n

After a forgettable day for the Aussie women on Day 2, promising teen Ash Barty will hope to restore some glory when she takes on 32nd seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.<\/p>\n

Barty lost heavily when the pair last met in Kuala Lumpur in February, but has grown in experience and confidence since that time while the Russian has gone just 5-7 since May.<\/p>\n

Several Aussies, including Barty, John Peers, Marinko Matosevic and Anastasia Rodionova, will also take to the courts on Wednesday at Flushing Meadows in doubles action.<\/p>\n
