{"id":5903,"date":"2013-03-22T16:38:06","date_gmt":"2013-03-22T08:38:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=5903"},"modified":"2013-03-22T16:38:06","modified_gmt":"2013-03-22T08:38:06","slug":"sanders-continues-hot-streak-in-ipswich","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2013\/03\/22\/sanders-continues-hot-streak-in-ipswich","title":{"rendered":"Sanders continues hot streak in Ipswich"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2013\/03\/22\/sanders-continues-hot-streak-in-ipswich\/attachment\/sanders-tw-460x306\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5904\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5904\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/files\/2013\/03\/sanders-tw-460x306-410x272.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Storm Sanders is the lone Australian female remaining in the 2013 City of Ipswich Tennis International, with the West Australian continuing her great form with a 6-1 6-1 victory over the 298th ranked Korean Sung-Hee Han.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders will now face number six seed Yurika Sema (JPN) in the quarterfinal on Friday, as she continues her push to improve on her ranking of No.412.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders\u2019 compatriot Sally Peers was eliminated by Japanese player Sachie Ishizu whilst another Aussie in Azra Hadzic was beaten by Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand 6-2 6-1.<\/p>\n<p>Lertcheewakarn will now face Japanese seventh seed Junri Namigata whilst Ishizu will next face Croatian qualifier Jelena Pandzic.<\/p>\n<p>Viktorija Rajicic was the final Australian female in action on court on Thursday and was gallant in her 4-6 6-2 6-2 loss to second seed Erika Sema of Japan.<\/p>\n<p>An upset was on the cards with Rajicic dominating the match early through her heavy groundstrokes and aggressive play, however, Sema upped the tempo in the second set before racing away in the third.<\/p>\n<p>Sema will now face Thai Valatchaya Wongteanchai in Friday\u2019s quarterfinals.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re were no upsets in the men\u2019s draw in Wednesday\u2019s action at the event, with all seeds in action progressing.<\/p>\n<p>Aussies Colin Ebelthite, James Lemke, Jordan Thompson and Michael Look all won in straight sets, with Queenslander Look overpowering young gun Bradley Mousley 6-0 6-4 rout. Look will now face New South Welshman Thompson, who had a 6-4 7-6(2) victory over American opponent Michael Laser.<\/p>\n<p>Lemke and Ebelthite both enjoyed clinical victories over Aaron Leeder-Chard and Brandon Walkin respectively.
