With the 2010\/2011 Summer tennis season coming to a close, it was time for the tennis community to take their sweatbands off and come together to celebrate a brilliant year of tennis!<\/p>\n
The 2011 Tennis Industry Awards Night supported by Chambers Investment Planners had a change of scenery and saw 200 guests flock to the South of Perth Yacht Club. Accompanying the tennis enthusiasts was channel 9\u2019s Greg Pearce who MC\u2019d the evening.<\/p>\n
The night was about bringing the tennis community together and acknowledging outstanding achievements both on and off the court. Please see below a list of all the winners on the evening There were also awards dedicated to Officials, Brikmakers Tennis League and Senior of the Year. Sportrophy Club of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n Winner: Reabold Tennis Club<\/p>\n \u00a0Houghtons Classic White Volunteer of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n Winner: John Pritchard (Wembley Downs Tennis Club)<\/p>\n Dunlop-Slazenger Service to Tennis Award<\/strong><\/p>\n Dual Winner: Ken Brown (Alexander Park Tennis Centre) & Diane Warburton (Upper Great Southern Zone)<\/p>\n Swan Brewery Coach Achievement Award (Split into 3 categories)<\/strong><\/p>\n Coaching Excellence \u2013 Club<\/strong><\/p>\n Winner: Ian Ketteringham: (Alexander Park Tennis Centre)<\/p>\n Coaching Excellence \u2013 High Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n Winner: Mark Leuba (Hensman Park Tennis Club)<\/p>\n Coaching Excellence \u2013 MLC Tennis Hot Shots<\/strong><\/p>\n Winner: Mike Gill (Tennis @ Spearwood)<\/p>\n Brikmakers State League Player of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n Men\u2019s: Rhys Johnson (Hensman Park Tennis Club)<\/p>\n Women\u2019s: Madeleine Watson (Cottesloe Tennis Club)<\/p>\n Once the official proceedings were over, guests were invited to the stage to demonstrate their \u2018non-tennis\u2019 moves on the dance floor\u2026this proved to be rather eye opening and humerous to say the least!<\/p>\n Another BIG winner on the night was Tennis Officials Sue Tribe who took out the first prize in the raffle, securing herself a pearl pendent worth over $1,000 courtesy of Linneys jewelers.<\/p>\n Congratulations to all winners on the night, and to all who came along to the event, displaying great camaraderie and fellowship. \u00a0Thank you also to all the sponsors who supported the event.
