Delivered in partnership with the Town of Port Hedland\u2019s Coordinator of Sport and Recreation, Thomas Machin, the session provided local young people with the opportunity to\u00a0participate\u00a0in structured tennis and recreational activities in a welcoming and inclusive environment.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The following\u00a0day\u00a0the team travelled to the remote Aboriginal communities of\u00a0Warralong\u00a0and\u00a0Strelley\u00a0with representatives from the Town of Port Hedland including Thomas,\u00a0Joe\u00a0and\u00a0Ngurra\u00a0Kujungka\u00a0Recreation Officer Stirling Flatt. Tennis sessions were delivered\u00a0for\u00a0local children in both communities, creating opportunities for fun,\u00a0movement\u00a0and connection through sport. Stirling\u2019s presence was particularly meaningful as a Traditional Custodian of both communities, helping strengthen community connection and cultural engagement throughout the sessions.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Midweek, the team worked with students at Port Hedland Primary School and St Cecilia\u2019s Primary School. Two tennis sessions were delivered at each school, reaching a wide range of students and encouraging participation,\u00a0teamwork\u00a0and active lifestyles. Working alongside Sammi Ryder and her team from\u00a0The\u00a0Y, as well as West Coast Eagles Northwest Manager Brendon Daily, Tennis West delivered youth tennis sessions and coordinated a series of competitions throughout the evening.
