{"id":21582,"date":"2026-03-12T12:49:35","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T04:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/?p=21582"},"modified":"2026-03-12T12:50:48","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T04:50:48","slug":"state-leagues-semi-finals-confirmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/wa\/news\/2026\/03\/12\/state-leagues-semi-finals-confirmed","title":{"rendered":"2025\/26 State Leagues Semi Finals Confirmed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After\u00a0ten rounds of home and away action, we have settled on the final four.\u00a0This weekend is set to serve up some mouthwatering\u00a0matches with\u00a0matches spread across three days.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">MEN\u2019S STATE LEAGUE\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mt Lawley v Claremont at Mt Lawley Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Friday 13 March, 6 pm\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The semifinals kick off with a massive Friday night match under lights at Mt\u00a0Lawley\u00a0Tennis Club. These two sides only met last week with Mt\u00a0Lawley\u00a0winning 5-1, although\u00a0it was against a weaker Claremont side. The win\u00a0saw Mt\u00a0Lawley\u00a0leapfrog Claremont and seal a\u00a0home semifinal.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the home and away season, both sides have tasted success. In round 5, Claremont won 4-2 with a stronger side\u00a0which featured Ethan Cook and Tim\u00a0Gray\u00a0who both\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0feature in round 10.\u00a0The key will be who plays for each team\u00a0with\u00a0Claremont and Mt\u00a0Lawley\u00a0having\u00a0both used\u00a0at least seven players throughout the season.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hans Bustiman has been the most consistent for\u00a0Claremont,\u00a0Bustiman has a 7-2 record in singles and has played every match this season. Ethan Cook and Tim Gray have both been\u00a0impressive\u00a0with each recording\u00a0a 5-1 singles\u00a0record this season. Jayden Court&#8217;s four matches throughout the season\u00a0sees\u00a0him also qualify for finals and if he plays, will make the side\u00a0extremely strong.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For Mt Lawley, availability from Jake Dembo will go a long way to helping his club win the\u00a0semifinal,\u00a0Dembo is the only\u00a0amongst these two teams to be undefeated so far this season. Regulars in Casey Ambler (5-2 win-loss), Luca Katsamakis (3-3 win-loss)\u00a0and Reuben Giorgio\u00a0(6-2 win-loss)\u00a0have all played their part and had some important wins.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cottesloe v Royal Kings Park at Cottesloe Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Saturday 14 March, 12.30 pm\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The two grass court specialist teams\u00a0will battle it out at Cottesloe in what could be a closer game than you think. Cottesloe have dropped just\u00a0the one\u00a0game all season\u00a0but go in without\u00a0a win since Round 8. Former State League MVP Max Weir has been the standout all season having not lost a singles tie. At their strongest Cam Burton (3-2 win-loss record), Ben Webster (3-2 win-loss) and Sehun Park (3-1 win-loss) have all shown strong form throughout the season with more wins than losses.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For Royal Kings Park, the away team have\u00a0remained\u00a0consistent this\u00a0season\u00a0which could put them in good stead. Zac Itzstein has shown he is still capable of matching it with the best\u00a0while Lincoln Duckett in his first season of State League has brought it with the best, winning four singles matches this season.\u00a0In round 5 the two sides met with\u00a0Cottesloe\u00a0winning 6-0.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">WOMEN\u2019S STATE LEAGUE\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cottesloe v Dalkeith at Cottesloe Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Saturday 14 March, 12.30 pm\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cottesloe\u2019s season was almost perfect until the last round where they dropped their first game of the season to Royal Kings Park.\u00a0Cottesloe goes\u00a0into the\u00a0tie\u00a0having won both their matches during the season against Dalkeith. The Cottesloe side consists of\u00a0rising star\u00a0Elena Manoj\u00a0who has gone through the season without dropping a singles match\u00a0and Jess Culley who has a 6-2 win-loss record. New addition to the\u00a0team,\u00a0Nisha Whittome has also\u00a0shown some good form, winning four singles matches this season.\u00a0The experience and talent of Alicia Molik will also ensure the home team are the firm favourites.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0make-up\u00a0of the Dalkeith side will be the key to giving them the biggest chance of causing an upset. Dalkeith have used at least eight players throughout the season but should see in form\u00a0players\u00a0Hayley Burton\u00a0and Isabelle Criddle line up. Burton has been the\u00a0team&#8217;s\u00a0best in terms of results, winning six singles matches and only losing one this season. Criddle has become a regular this season and elevated herself as one of the\u00a0team&#8217;s\u00a0best with\u00a0a 5-2 singles\u00a0record this season. While results\u00a0haven\u2019t\u00a0gone her way, Tara Aleksic is no easy beat, regularly playing in the number one spot with plenty of\u00a0finals\u00a0experience.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Royal Kings Park v Hensman Park at Royal Kings Park\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Saturday 14 March, 12.30 pm\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This is set to be a mouthwatering clash\u00a0between the two sides. Both Hensman Park and Royal Kings Park have both tasted success between each other this season with the most recent matchup seeing Royal Kings Park win easily,\u00a06-0 in round 9.\u00a0Hensman Park has seen the return of Anja Dokic in round\u00a010\u00a0which will be a big inclusion\u00a0to the side. Karin Hiramatsu has led from the front for Hensman\u00a0Park\u00a0having won five singles matches so far this season. Zayah Baker has made the most\u00a0of her matches this season, having a\u00a0100% win\u00a0rate from her three singles matches. Ella Nurkic has been\u00a0next\u00a0best, winning three singles matches this season.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Royal Kings Park goes into the tie with some serious form. The home side is currently on a\u00a0four match\u00a0winnings\u00a0streak which includes the big win against ladder leaders Cottesloe. Mahta Khanloo has been a big driver of that, winning her last four singles ties while\u00a0youngsters\u00a0Jasmin\u00a0Heapes, Sumner Royall\u00a0and\u00a0Claudia Shearwood have seen recent success winning both their last two of three matches.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">BOY\u2019S STATE LEAGUE\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reabold v Hensman Park at Reabold Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cottesloe v UWA at Cottesloe Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Sunday 15 March, 8.30 am\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Both these semifinals\u00a0matches\u00a0sees\u00a0a replay of their round 10 fixtures. Last week it was Cottesloe who edged out UWA by one set. This match will once again look to go the journey with five of the six rubbers\u00a0going to a third set tie-break. Reabold got the better\u00a0of\u00a0Hensman Park last round and will go in with high hopes after defeating them in round five as well.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">GIRL\u2019S STATE LEAGUE\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cottesloe v Mosman Park at Cottesloe Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>UWA v Mt Lawley at UWA Tennis Club\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Sunday 15 March, 8.30 am\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cottesloe will be the team to beat, finishing on top by 27 points.
